Baby's food intake and frequency

The main basis for judging whether a breastfed baby is full is as follows

(1) The baby's swallowing sound can be heard during feeding (several to ten times in a row).

(2) The mother has the feeling of breastfeeding.

(3) Wet the diaper 6 times or more in 24 hours.

(4) Babies have soft, golden yellow, mushy stools, 2-4 times a day.

(5) Between feedings, the baby is content and quiet.

(6) The average weight of children increases by 18-90 grams per day or 12-210 grams per week.

(7) The time and frequency of infant feeding is roughly as follows:

Time: 1520 minutes is appropriate for each feeding.

Frequency: Feeding 7-8 times a day during the neonatal period.

Breastfeeding newborns are fed with milk 8-12 times a day, with rhythmic sucking accompanied by swallowing sounds. After each breastfeeding (5-10 minutes later), I will easily suck for a while to comfort myself, then loosen my nipples, sleep quietly for 1-3 hours, and play for a while after waking up. From the third day after birth, there are more than 6 urinations and more than 3 or 4 stools every 24 hours.

Whether breast milk or artificial feeding, monitoring the weight gain of newborns is an objective indicator to judge whether they are full. If the baby's weight increases by more than 125 grams per week or more than 600 grams in the full moon after 7-10 days of birth, it means that the milk intake of the newborn can meet its growth and development needs.
